(Stoneham, MA ) – StonehamBank is a proud participant in America Saves Week (Feb 27 to Mar 3, 2023), an annual national campaign that encourages individuals and families to check-in on their finances by highlighting several key areas that contribute to financial stability; such as saving automatically, preparing for unexpected expenses, retirement, and reducing debt.
“We have a particular focus on financial literacy among all sectors of our population,” notes StonehamBank CEO Edward F. Doherty, Jr. “We value the importance especially of planned saving especially when it comes to future financial plans. We also are hoping to reach those who are unbanked, helping them to understand the importance of developing a banking relationship at an early age. Saving is a financial journey, and just like any other journey, planning is key to success.”
Throughout the week StonehamBank’s Montvale and Billerica branches will post to social media providing links to ASW financial literacy digital information in an effort to help build a financially resilient community.
“As a parent of two young children, I want to give them the understanding that saving is important and also the skills to do it,” says Vice President/Marketing Director Lauren Constantine. “We talk about money gifts they receive and how to save some, spend some and share some with a charity.”
